An 11 slide PowerPoint that uses Couch to 5K as a context for thinking about time, distance and speed. The cards and tables of each C25K session are useful to initiate class conversations about components of speed and how to go about getting fitter. Ratio and percentages can also be explored using this context. The correct answers are included and there is a spreadsheet containing the constructed charts which can be edited. A free pdf version of the slides without answers can be downloaded from here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/-12850965

29b CAT4 practice for students (ppt)

(0)
A 28 slide PowerPoint that provides examples of CAT4 assessment tasks and answers. CAT4 assessments consist of verbal reasoning – thinking with words; quantitative reasoning – thinking with numbers; non-verbal reasoning – thinking with shapes and spatial ability – thinking with shape and space. Many schools use CAT4 to provide ‘predictions’ for GCSE results. Four sets of practice assessment questions are provided plus additional questions. These questions should be practiced by students so they understand the patterns and inner logic of the four reasoning areas away from the pressure of sitting at a computer with the assessment about to begin, and the clock about to count down. A free pdf is available and can be downloaded here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12785220

28a Multiples and factors (xlsx)

28a Multiples and factors (xlsx)

(0)
A spreadsheet that displays the multiples and factors of two or three integers. Input 2 or 3 integers and multiples are highlighted in 1-100 number squares. One square shows the multiples of the first integer. Another shows the multiples of the second integer. The third shows the multiples of both. The same is shown for factors. There are 5 sheets: a) factors of two integers (three 1-100 number grids) b) factors of three integers (seven 1-100 number grids) c) multiples of two integers (three 1-100 number grids) d) multiples of three integers (seven 1-100 number grids) e) multiples of two integers (one 1-1050 number grid) The sheets are protected so students/teachers can only type in integers in the correct cells. They can be easily unprotected to make changes. I would welcome any suggestions for improvement.
